Procurement Specialist
for a prominent client of ours. This position is in
North Chicago, IL 60064 . Details for the position are as follows:
Job Title: Procurement (Purchasing) Specialist Location:
North Chicago, IL Pay Rate:
$39–$41/hour Schedule:
Hybrid – Onsite Tuesday–Thursday | Remote Monday & Friday Hours:
Monday–Friday, 1st shift
Key Responsibilities
Understand and enforce approved buying channels and contracting policies for goods and services; guide internal stakeholders to appropriate procurement pathways
Provide administrative and operational support for procurement projects and supplier management, including:
Contract review, redlining, and execution
Bid summary justifications
Spend, cost, and data analysis
Support and enforce Category Team strategies, including preferred supplier networks and category initiatives
Review and negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and other indirect procurement contracts within authorized financial thresholds
Manage standard Procure-to-Pay intake contract requests in alignment with established service level metrics
Assist with process improvement and efficiency initiatives to enhance customer experience within procurement operations
Maintain the highest ethical standards while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws
Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders across multiple business units
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent relevant work experience)
5+ years of procurement or purchasing experience , preferably in indirect procurement (facilities or real estate services procurement)
Hands‑on experience with vendor negotiations and contract management
Strong understanding of indirect procurement contracts, including MSAs and SOWs
Strong analytical and financial skills, including cost analysis and savings identification
Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills
