Packaging Specialist - 17981

Description

The Packaging Specialist will function as a support element by reviewing incoming packaging cases for Department of Defense solicitations.

What you will be responsible for:

Ensuringthatmilitarypackagingisdevelopedanddocumentedaccordingtothe processesoutlinedinMilitary Standards, e.g., MIL-STD-2073-1D, MIL-STD-2073-1E w/Change 4, MIL-STD-129, MIL-STD-3010, and Commercial Packaging Standards, ASTM-D3951 and ATA SPEC 300.

Conductingpackagingvalidationtestsandinspectionstoensure compliancewiththestandards.

Utilizingappropriateinstrumentationtomeasuretheeffectivenessofthepackagingdesign.

Reviewing packaging cases to ensure compliance with contract preservation, packaging and marking, preservation codes, correct specification packaging material, packing levels, Unit-intermediate and shipping container items, bar code and special marking (Shelf-life, Hazmat and ESD)

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful in this role: High School Diploma

3 years Logistics Experience preferred.

Knowledge of AES filling processes preferred.

US military logistics experience preferred.

Understanding of Military packaging requirements experience preferred.

Hazardous Materials handling preferred.

This position requires compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Candidates must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or individual admitted as a refugee or granted asylum).
