The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing finished products. Their duties include loading and unloading delivery trucks, checking incoming shipments against invoices, organizing and storing shipments, and ensuring the warehouse stays clean and organized. This position may work from the three facilities occupied by PLZ within the Indianapolis area.
Key Responsibilities
Load and unload incoming trailers
Visually inspect all trailers prior to loading
Ensure all trailer wheels are chocked prior to loading
Compare BOL vs what is being unloaded; notify management of any discrepancies
Double check incoming quantity and correct BOL if needed
Document/report any damaged goods to management
Order picking is to be double checked and signed off by QA prior to shipment
Follow all SOP’s and Work Instructions
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Have forklift experience—sit-down & stand-up
Follow established safety rules and regulations
Receive and Ship Finished Goods
Follow all SOP’s and Work Instructions
Knowledge of SAP
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge of proper safety procedures, equipment maintenance and warehouse best practices
Skills in inventory control
SAP, WMS, TMS experience required
Ability to follow and adhere to warehouse processes and procedures
HS Diploma or GED required
Must be able to effectively communicate in English; verbal and written form
Must possess organizational and leadership skills
Must be team oriented and self‑directed
Must be effective as an employee motivator
Must be familiar with warehouse in a manufacturing setting
Must be able to lift a maximum of up to 50 lbs
Must be able to stand/sit for prolonged periods of time
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be committed to quality, safety and communication
Ability to work in a fast‑pace environment
Must be able to work overtime and some weekends
