Work schedule: M-F, day shift
Position: Parts Counter Associate (Full-time) Location: Williamsburg, MI Ginop Sales branch.
Primary Responsibilities
Process parts purchases and sales
Actively sell parts
Ensure part margins meet Alta policies
Ensure customer satisfaction, including internal customers
Work efficiently with shipping and receiving of parts
Maintain department order and cleanliness
Assist in physical inventory counts
Incorporate Alta's guiding principles into daily activities
Perform other duties as assigned
Maintain consistent, reliable attendance, including readiness for work at scheduled start time; works day shift with rotating Saturday coverage
Qualifications
Minimum one year of heavy equipment, auto or truck parts counter experience (desired)
Valid driver's license required (chauffeur license preferred)
High school diploma or GED
Basic mechanical understanding; ability to identify parts by sight and name
Excellent communication skills and professionalism
Knowledge of mark‑up and gross margin calculations
Proper phone etiquette
Experience operating forklifts and hydraulic hose making preferred
Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, DIS Quantum, vendor web portals
Basic language skills: read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, present information effectively in one‑on‑one and small group settings for customers, clients, and colleagues
Basic mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide two‑digit numbers, and perform operations with units of American money, weight, volume, and distance
Basic reasoning ability: apply common sense to follow detailed instructions; handle problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Physical Demands / Work Environment
Hands, talk, and hear regularly; sit frequently; occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Vision: see close and at a distance, depth perception, adjust focus and see color
Lift: frequently 1‑25 pounds; occasionally 26‑100+ pounds
Work near moving mechanical parts occasionally
