Counter Sales Clerk
A Counter Sales Clerk serves as a primary point of customer interaction, managing sales transactions, answering product questions, and providing service and support related to specialty hardware products. This role involves both customer-facing duties and supporting warehouse/inventory operations. Responsibilities: Greet customers, answer telephones, and provide information about products, services, and policies. Process sales, returns, and exchanges using a point-of-sale system, handling various payment methods including cash, credit cards, and checks. Advise customers on the use, care, and technical specifications of merchandise, potentially including product demonstrations or recommendations for specific applications. Assist with inventory management, which may include organizing and stocking merchandise, checking product accuracy against orders, and occasionally performing showroom or warehouse duties. Maintain accurate records of sales, transactions, and customer interactions. Handle shipping and receiving warehouse tasks at a smaller site. Essential Skills: Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor. Attention to detail, particularly in cash handling and record keeping. Basic math proficiency. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Familiarity with computer systems for order entry and inventory lookup. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Previous customer service and sales experience. Experience in counter sales and inside sales. Warehouse exp. Knowledge of hardware products. Why Work Here?
