Campus Kiosk Ambassador
The Campus Kiosk Ambassador serves as the first point of contact for visitors, guests, and community members entering the university campus. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, distributing campus information, and ensuring compliance with campus access and parking policies. Ambassadors help create a welcoming and safe environment while supporting event operations and daily campus activities. Responsibilities include: Attend daily briefing sessions at the start of each shift to receive assignments and updates. Stationed at the Main Gate kiosk or designated entry points to greet visitors and assist the campus community. Distribute visitor guides, maps, and informational materials to guests. Provide clear directions and explain parking options to visitors and event attendees. Monitor entry points to prevent unauthorized or unpermitted vehicles from accessing campus. Serve as a knowledgeable resource for campus policies, locations, and services. Assist with event logistics by placing and retrieving barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices as directed. Acknowledge and accommodate special or temporary parking provisions for events and campus activities. Other related functions as assigned. Required qualifications include: High school graduation or GED. Minimum one year experience in a supervisory capacity. Minimum two years' customer service experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience using PC or compatible personal computer. Experience participating as a team member, completing reports, maintaining database records and maintaining files. Must have demonstrated professional demeanor, show attention to detail, have reliable transportation, and display punctual, dependable attendance. Ability to work outdoors and stand for extended periods. Must be able to walk continuously during an 8-hour shift, lift 30 lbs., bend and affix immobilization devices, etc. Must have clean driving record at time of hire and maintain an acceptable rating at all times. Must be flexible about work schedules. Preferred qualifications include: Three or more years' experience in campus ambassador or a community engagement role. Three or more years' customer service experience. Previous experience working in a university environment. Previous experience working in a large volume parking operation. Knowledge of UT structure, policies, rules and procedures. Demonstrated strong communication skills, both oral and written. Familiarity with campus layout and parking policies (training provided). This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing). Salary range is $41,600+ depending on qualifications, paid overtime.
