Role Overview
The Graphic Designer is a full-time member of the Marketing team responsible for creating high-quality visual assets that support customer acquisition, product promotion, and brand initiatives. This role focuses on executing on-brand creative across digital, web, email, advertising, and print channels while maintaining consistency with Salt Strong’s visual identity.
The Graphic Designer collaborates closely with Marketing stakeholders to translate campaign briefs and strategic direction into compelling, production-ready designs delivered on deadline.
What You Will Do In This Role
You will support the Marketing department by designing and producing visual assets used across marketing campaigns, product launches, and ongoing brand initiatives. Your work will directly contribute to customer acquisition efforts and brand consistency across all marketing channels.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Marketing and cross-functional teams to design creative assets for a wide range of uses, including web pages, presentations, advertising, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing collateral Maintain and help evolve the Salt Strong brand identity across multiple platforms, including ads, landing pages, email, web, and print Translate campaign briefs, creative direction, and strategic goals into high-quality visual designs aligned with established brand standards Develop design concepts and execute original content using appropriate color, typography, imagery, and layout Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality Organize, maintain, and optimize shared design assets and photo libraries Core Design Responsibilities
Proactively identify areas where design improvements are needed and execute those designs Create website images and graphics management and creation Landing page design strategy and supporting images Email design strategy and supporting images Advertising design strategy and creative assets Product packaging design Product illustrations Product logo design Web design requests App graphics Icon and badge design YouTube and blog thumbnails Postcard and print design Chapter and program graphic requests Create SOPs around design asset organization, requests and fulfillment. Updating, maintaining, and enforcing brand standards across all departments Requirements for Success

Marketing & Conversion Awareness
Understanding how design impacts clicks, conversions, and customer acquisition, especially for ads, landing pages, email visuals, and thumbnails.

Tier 1 – High-Impact (Strongly Preferred)
Experience designing conversion-focused assets such as ads, landing pages, email campaigns, and opt-ins Strong understanding of digital-first design across web, email, paid media, and social platforms Experience creating platform-specific assets for paid media (Meta, Google, YouTube, etc.) Email design experience, including mobile-responsive layouts and email-safe design principles Web and CMS familiarity (WordPress, Webflow, HubSpot, or similar) Strong photo editing and retouching skills Experience maintaining brand consistency across high-volume marketing outputs Tier 2 – Value-Add (Nice to Have)
Experience supporting subscription-based or membership-driven businesses Familiarity with CRO concepts and A/B testing visuals Ability to create reusable templates, design systems, or component libraries Illustration, icon, or badge design experience Experience collaborating closely with developers or web teams Experience designing for educational, content-heavy, or blog-driven platforms Tier 3 – Differentiators
Video editing experience, including basic cuts, overlays, thumbnails, and social video formats Basic motion graphics or animation experience (After Effects, Premiere Pro, or similar) Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools for ideation or production efficiency Experience working with outdoor, lifestyle, fitness, or mission-driven brands Understanding of creative performance feedback loops and optimization What Success Looks Like
Designs contribute to measurable improvements in conversion rates and paid ad performance metrics, including higher click-through rates, stronger engagement, and improved campaign efficiency Marketing briefs and creative requests are clearly understood and translated into effective, on-brand visual assets that support customer acquisition and membership growth Design work consistently aligns with Salt Strong’s brand standards while reinforcing trust, clarity, and a premium membership experience Conversion-focused assets such as ads, landing pages, email visuals, and thumbnails are designed with performance, clarity, and usability in mind Projects are delivered on time with minimal rework, even while managing multiple priorities and high-volume requests Visual assets are optimized for digital-first environments, including web, mobile, email, paid media, and social platforms Feedback from Marketing and cross-functional teams is incorporated efficiently, resulting in continuous improvement of creative output Design files, templates, and shared assets are well-organized, documented, and easy for the team to access and reuse The Graphic Designer is viewed as an employee who proactively identifies opportunities to improve visual consistency, efficiency, and campaign impact
