Associate Sportswear Designer Location: New York, NY Position Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday through Friday, Standard Business Hours Salary Range: DoE Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and creative Associate Sportswear Designer to join our New York–based design team. This role supports the development of seasonal sportswear collections from initial concept through prototyping and production. The Associate Designer will collaborate cross-functionally with Technical Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Production teams to ensure products meet brand standards, commercial objectives, and delivery timelines. Key Responsibilities Assist in developing seasonal concept decks, trend boards, color stories, fabric stories, and overall line direction Translate design inspiration into CADs, line sheets, charts, and detailed tech packs using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop Source and evaluate performance-appropriate fabrics, trims, and construction techniques (primarily knits, with some wovens) Partner with Technical Design during fit sessions, specification reviews, and construction evaluations to ensure quality and consistency Collaborate with overseas factories, cost teams, and production partners to confirm feasibility, timelines, and margin targets Maintain organized physical and digital archives of styles, washes, fabrications, and seasonal references Support the design calendar and ensure all deliverables (prototypes, samples, market submissions) are completed on schedule Assist in internal and external presentation of seasonal collections, clearly communicating design intent, business rationale, and brand positioning Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design 3–5 years of professional apparel design experience, ideally in women’s or contemporary sportswear Strong understanding of garment construction, fit fundamentals, fabrications, and treatment processes Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Experience creating clear, detailed tech packs Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally Experience with Simparel or other PLM systems is a plus Why Join Us Collaborate with an experienced and highly engaged design team Gain exposure to large-scale production and global sourcing operations Work in a fast-paced, creative environment focused on innovation, growth, and commercially successful product development #J-18808-Ljbffr
