Location: Tampa, FL (MacDill AFB) | Hybrid: Onsite/Remote Contract: DoD Agency Publication Services | Pending Award Clearance: Active Secret Required (Top Secret Preferred) About the Role Join a small, high-performing team supporting critical Department of Defense publication services. You'll produce classified and unclassified military publications that directly support operations, strategic planning, and Congressional reporting. This role combines technical writing expertise with national security mission impact. This is technical writing meets national security - your work will support military operations, inform senior leadership decisions, and contribute to Congressional oversight of defense activities. What You'll Do Daily Document Production (60% of time) Write, edit, and format military publications including operational reports, briefings, and strategic plans Prepare command briefings and presentations for senior military leadership Format documents per DoD correspondence standards and military writing style Coordinate with military staff to gather content and validate technical accuracy Review documents for grammar, style, classification markings, and compliance Security Review Support (20% of time) Support Defense Office of Prepublication & Security Review (DOPSR) coordination Prepare materials for security review and track status through approval process Implement security redactions and ensure proper classification markings Prevent unauthorized disclosure of classified/sensitive information Research & Analysis (10% of time) Conduct background research on people, organizations, and entities Gather information from classified and unclassified databases Compile biographical summaries and organizational profiles Support fact‑checking and reference documentation Document Management (10% of time) Maintain version control and document tracking systems Ensure DFARS compliance for data storage and rights Coordinate with translation services when needed Track project deadlines and manage multiple concurrent assignments What You'll Work On Command briefings and presentations for General Officer leadership Operational reports and after‑action reviews Strategic plans and policy documents Congressional testimony materials and quarterly reports Intelligence summaries (classified) Public affairs releases (post‑DOPSR) Training materials and standard operating procedures Required Qualifications Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance REQUIRED (must be current and transferable) Top Secret clearance strongly preferred Must be eligible to work on a Top Secret facility Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, or related field Experience: Minimum 3+ years of professional technical writing experience Experience writing at various classification levels (Secret/Top Secret) Experience in DoD, military, or defense contractor environment strongly preferred Core Skills: Expert military/DoD writing style and correspondence formats Understanding of military rank structure and protocols Knowledge of security classification procedures and marking Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines Strong attention to detail and quality control Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Adobe Acrobat Professional (PDF editing/redaction) SharePoint or similar document management systems Experience with classified email systems (SIPR/JWICS) preferred Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting DoD Combatant Commands DOPSR experience or security review coordination Military service (any branch) Middle East regional expertise or foreign language skills (Arabic, Farsi, Pashto) Intelligence community background Experience with Congressional reporting requirements Work Environment Classified work requires onsite presence in SCIF/secure facility Fast‑paced, high‑operational‑tempo environment Direct collaboration with military staff and senior leadership Small 3‑person team with high visibility and impact Why This Role Matters Military operations and strategic planning Senior leadership decision‑making at the highest levels Congressional oversight and reporting National security objectives Public understanding of defense activities (through DOPSR‑approved materials) Career Value Maintain and potentially upgrade security clearance (Top Secret) Develop rare DOPSR expertise valued across defense industry High‑level military coordination experience Exposure to intelligence community and Congressional liaison work Pathway to other Combatant Command contracts or DoD civilian positions Contract Details Status: Pending award – position contingent on contract award Base Period: February 2, 2026 - February 1, 2027 Option Periods: Four (4) one‑year options plus potential 6‑month extension Total Potential Duration: 5.5 years #J-18808-Ljbffr
