- Conduct thorough questioning of individuals and inspect documents, property, to ensure compliance with laws
- Deter undocumented entry by utilizing covert surveillance techniques, infrared scopes to apprehend smugglers or unauthorized individuals
- Track signs of illicit border crossing activity using expertly honed observational skills
Patrol designated areas via a variety of vehicles: horseback, boats, ATVs, snowmobiles & motorcycles.
Finding success in this role requires an individual who is physically fit and possesses strong communication skills. Formal training includes 6 months at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy where new recruits will learn about immigration law firearms defensive tactics Spanish etc.
