About the Role

In this role, you’ll help shape our Home & Explore experience, designing solutions that allow members to gain the most benefit from Hinge Health and have a seamless experience on their pain relief journey. As a Staff Product designer, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, user-centered solutions from concept to execution, including user research, interaction/UI design, and prototypes that evolve our member experience forward, while driving towards our key business goals.

What You'll Accomplish
Drive company‑wide Home and Explore initiatives:
Collaborate across R&D to ensure governance of information architecture, overall user experience, and alignment with business outcomes. Boost member engagement across key offerings:
Drive engagement with exercise therapy, virtual visits with physical therapists and health coaches, and Enso wearable equipment through experimentation and ongoing customer feedback. Define guidelines and design principles:
Enhance discoverability of new programs in a contextual, meaningful, and intuitive way. Design highly personalized habit‑forming experiences:
Leverage member input and behavioral data to tailor Home and Library experiences, helping members build healthy habits and maximize health outcomes. Deliver a world‑class app experience:
Apply modern UI, best‑in‑class UX, and engaging motion design for smooth, intuitive interactions. Collaborate across teams and platforms:
Partner with cross‑functional teams to create integrated experiences across mobile and desktop platforms; familiarity with native mobile is a plus. Design at scale:
Use and contribute to the design system to build scalable components and patterns that drive consistency and efficiency. Champion quality and accessibility:
Ensure every onboarding touchpoint is accessible, inclusive, and thoughtfully designed for diverse user needs. Basic Qualifications 10+ years of product design experience, including partnering with product and engineering teams, Bachelor's Degree in Interaction, Industrial, Product, Service design, Human‑computer interaction, or equivalent experience. Design craft mastery:
Expertise in interaction and visual design, with a track record of advancing the craft and inspiring excellence across teams. Strategic problem‑solving:
Experience leading ambiguous problem spaces, setting vision, and defining design strategy across products or platforms. Data‑informed design:
Proficient in forming hypotheses, running A/B or multivariate tests, facilitating user research, and leveraging data science insights to optimize experiences. Influence and communication:
Highly effective communicator with the ability to align teams and influence senior stakeholders around design direction. Mentorship and team development:
Demonstrated success mentoring designers and elevating the overall quality and impact of team output. Prototyping and innovation:
Deep prototyping skills used to drive product alignment, experimentation, and innovation. System‑level design thinking:
Expertise in scalable flows, component design, and building cohesive design systems. A standout and updated portfolio demonstrating high‑impact product work, leadership on complex initiatives, and measurable outcomes. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing Home, Browse, or Search experiences:
Strong ability to identify patterns and mechanics that drive sustained member engagement. Proven facilitation skills:
Track record of running pillar‑or org‑level workshops to align cross‑functional partners on large, complex initiatives and move teams toward clear decisions. Executive‑level influence:
Skilled in facilitating executive meetings, guiding conversations, framing decisions, and ensuring proper validation and checkpoints before moving forward. Motion design expertise:
Rich experience using animation to communicate status transitions, highlight achievements, and add delight through new programs or features. AI curiosity and innovation:
Actively explores emerging tools, such as Cursor, to accelerate design deployment and learning. Design innovation:
Excited to redefine spaces with novel and delightful ideas, drawing inspiration from unexpected sources. Multimedia mastery:
Proficient across mobile, desktop, wearables, and other interfaces, delivering seamless experiences. Passion for healthcare or fitness:
Committed to helping others live healthier lives through thoughtful design and technology, with relevant industry experience. Salary: 220,000-240,000 per year Hinge Health Hybrid Model (SF-Based)
We believe that remote work and in‑person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Employees in hybrid roles are required to be in the office 3 days per week, for the full 8 hours of a typical business day. The San Francisco office has a dog‑friendly workplace program. This is a San Francisco‑based role that involves regular interaction and collaboration with Hinge Health colleagues in Bengaluru, India. Time zones: San Francisco is the Pacific Time Zone, which is 12 hours and 30 minutes behind India Standard Time – for example, 8am in San Francisco is 8:30pm in Bengaluru. Standard working hours in San Francisco are between 8am - 6pm.
