Accountant

or

Bookkeeper

to join our team. This

part-time

position includes full-scale accounting and reporting for Ironwood’s portfolio of properties.

Responsibilities

Provide internal and external reporting of property financials, including monthly financial statements for tenants and clients. Responsibilities include general ledger, income statements, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, cash management, journal entries and ensuring all internal and external reporting deadlines are met.

Work closely with the property management team on annual budget preparation, tenant reconciliations, and property, tenant, and vendor setup management.

Manage and review the cash accounts of each property.

Ensure timely payment of utilities, taxes, mortgages, and owner distributions.

Oversee accounts receivable process – monitor cash receipts, review and bill tenant recurring charges, and make billing adjustments.

Review payables. Process vendor invoices for payment as required.

Interact with tenants and clients as needed on basic/intermediate issues.

Prepare and file sales & use tax returns, as applicable.

Other projects and duties as assigned.

Annually prepare financials and provide documentation for tax accountant.

Maintain depreciation and amortization schedules.

Qualifications

3+years of related accounting experience, including financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

Prior commercial and/or retail property accounting experience is considered a plus.

Experience using Yardi or other asset management software is preferred.

Strong quantitative, analytical and accounting skills, as well as attention to detail.

Good interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to apply them to day-to-day job responsibilities.

Highly self‑motivated with the ability to multitask and perform effectively in a deadline‑driven environment.

Intermediate competence in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Bachelor’s degree required.
