Overview
The Community Relations Coordinator works closely with the Director of Community Relations to implement SSCC’s Community Engagement Plan. This position’s primary goal is to increase community engagement, partnerships, and collaboratives across all stakeholders. Benefits Include

Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Build, nurture, and maintain relationships with community organizations, nonprofits, faith-based partners, educational institutions, service providers, civic organizations, and local government entities across the SSCC’s area. Support ongoing engagement strategies aligned with DFPS requirements and the Community Engagement Plan. Represent SSCC at community meetings, coalitions, outreach events, and speaking engagements. Engage key stakeholder groups including foster families, kinship caregivers, alumni, child welfare professionals, CASAs, child advocacy centers, child welfare boards, and community leaders. Assist in cultivating partnerships that expand services, supports, and regional collaboration. Maintain and expand the SSCC’s general community resources directory. Build specialized resource directories including aging-out/transition resources, mental health supports, educational resources, and other initiative-specific tools. Ensure ongoing accuracy, accessibility, and relevance of resource information. Support implementation of the Success Book Maintenance Plan and Data Management guidelines. Cultivate relationships with community partners, businesses, civic groups, churches, and stakeholders to support sponsorships and resource contributions. Assist in identifying donor prospects, stewarding relationships, and supporting recognition efforts in alignment with development strategies. Support fundraising initiatives, community drives, volunteer recruitment opportunities, and community support campaigns. Assist with planning, coordination, logistics, and follow-up for community events, appreciation activities, outreach engagements, and department initiatives. Support cross-department trainings, stakeholder education opportunities, and collaborative initiatives with Permanency, Quality & Compliance, Provider Relations, and other internal departments. Help coordinate community-based trainings, informational sessions, and collaborative meetings. Support community-facing communication efforts and storytelling that elevates impact, partnerships, and engagement. Assist with social media content, regional highlights, community partnerships, and engagement campaigns in collaboration with the Community Relations Director and Communications teams. Ensure consistent messaging, branding, and communication alignment. Track engagement activities, partnerships, sponsorship outcomes, and regional initiatives. Assist with monthly reporting, metrics documentation, and outcome summaries. Utilize department project management and communication platforms as required. Support compliance with DFPS, contract expectations, internal standards, and COA requirements. Must maintain confidentiality and be able to deal with highly confidential donor information and funds without compromise. Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards. May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training. Occasional travel may be required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Business, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Community Engagement, Nonprofit Management or related field and 2+ years of experience required.
