OVERVIEW Working as Full‑time Benefits Specialist in our Human Resources department, you will perform entry level duties assisting with US and International employee benefits with a specific focus on leave of absence administration. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administering employee requests for family, medical and military leaves of absence by phone and email
Providing guidance to employees regarding company policies and procedures
Assisting employees with questions and completion of forms
Preparing employee communication pieces
Ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local guidelines
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
Highly motivated, self‑directed and customer service oriented
Demonstrate strong organization, time management, planning and prioritizing abilities
Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
Work independently as well as in a team environment
Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Possess or are working towards a degree in Human Resources or Business
Prior experience using PeopleSoft HR systems
Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the position (FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, USERRA, COBRA, etc)
Proficient in a second language

FULL‑TIME BENEFITS Fastenal offers a competitive benefits package to all full‑time employees. This package includes Health, Life, Long Term Disability, and Dental Insurance, in addition to paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, and 401(k) with an employer contribution.
COMPENSATION The base pay range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
