The Education & Marketing Assistant will provide support for the Interpretive Education Coordinator and Environmental Educator on educational walks, create content for social media, and assist in the implementation of NCF’s outreach and marketing.
Specific Responsibilities
Participate in natural history tours and other organization activities centered around promoting the Foundation’s mission and conservation programs. Capture and catalog photos of staff, programs, properties, organisms, and events. Contribute to content development for the Foundation’s social media, e-newsletters, print newsletters, and other outreach materials. Provide support for fundraising activities as needed and assist with community events, primarily in areas of outreach & promotion. Work as part of the Development & Marketing Department to facilitate our comprehensive community outreach strategy. Required Qualifications
Experience and Education: B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Science, Education, Communication or a related biological/ecological field, or working towards a degree in one of these areas of study. Previous education or communication experience required. Willingness to learn species identification and ecological connections in Nantucket habitats. Comfortable with public speaking to groups of 20 or more as well as connecting individually with program & event participants. Individuals must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team. A valid driver’s license is required as is the ability to drive safely. Preferred Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communications skills. Ability to follow instructions, prioritize and complete tasks efficiently. Competency with Social Media Platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok), Microsoft Programs, and Canva. Interest and willingness to document ecological stewardship and research projects. Ability to hike 3-4 miles Experience using Google Earth or ArcPRO software for basic map making. 40hr/week at $22-23/hr. Some weekend hours required for event and programming help.
