Overview We are seeking a Lead Editor to produce, manage, and align content across a select group of client institutions. The role focuses on SEO content production while supporting creative, thought‑leadership, and social initiatives to promote client satisfaction and retention.

The Role Lead Editors oversee the production of content that meets marketing goals and reflects each school’s unique voice. The position collaborates closely with SEO, Creative, ATL, Social, and client teams to deliver high‑quality, on‑brand content at scale.

Responsibilities

Supervise content production for designated client institutions, including editing, signing off, assigning tasks, meeting deadlines, and coordinating revisions.

Collaborate with SEO, Creative, ATL, and Social teams to ensure content aligns with each school’s brand, voice, and audience.

Lead brainstorming sessions, generate topic ideas, and develop content strategies to achieve client objectives such as improving SEO rankings, LLM results, faculty expertise visibility, and social engagement.

Participate in content audits, persona development, and strategy planning for new program launches, and support the production of marketing guides and collateral.

Work with freelance writers and editors to maintain quality standards and address challenges.

Represent the content team in client meetings, managing relationships and communicating client feedback.

Maintain style guides, templates, and internal documentation to ensure consistency.

Contribute to special collaborative projects as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Exceptional editing skills with experience coaching freelance editors and writers.

Deep understanding of content marketing across SEO, digital PR, social media, paid media, branding, and creative, with proven application in written and visual content.

Ability to balance strategic storytelling with SEO and branding objectives.

Knowledge of AP Style and custom style guide editing for diverse clients.

Proficiency with Asana (or similar), Google Suite, and other workflow platforms.

Strong attention to detail and critical thinking for problem resolution.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or higher in journalism, communications, or related field.

3+ years of full‑time experience in editing, journalism, marketing, communications, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience planning and editing SEO content with strong working knowledge of SEO strategies.

Experience editing and/or producing content related to higher education with industry knowledge.

Working Conditions

Frequent, proactive communication across multiple time zones, with some meetings outside regular work hours.

Occasional travel for on‑site client meetings and company events.
