Communications Coordinator

The communications coordinator provides ongoing communications support aligned with Skyland Trail internal and external communications objectives. As a part of the communications team, the coordinator participates in organization-wide communications strategy planning and implementation. The coordinator also responds to the communications needs of other departments in the organization including development and our clinical teams. Salary range is $44–47K. This is a hybrid position: 2 remote days and 3 in-person days at our adult campus in Brookhaven.

Duties

Support donor, professional, and community relations and education.

Support fundraising, marketing, and community events by crafting emails; updating event webpages; creating social media content and news releases; and creating on-screen displays, banners, and other onsite visuals. Support fundraising campaigns throughout the year through email campaigns, direct mail, videos, and social media content. Interview donors, grateful families, and community partners and create content to share across appropriate channels.

Support family and alumni programs.

Assist with regular email, SMS, and social communications for client families and alumni. Share information about scheduled education and peer support opportunities.

Support adjunctive therapies.

Help meet the communications needs of adjunctive therapies at adult and adolescent programs (art, music, horticultural, and recreational therapy). Assist with on-campus flyers for events. Support communications for Arts in the Garden, Fairies in the Garden, and other events organized by the adjunctive team. Create social media content to showcase adjunctive programming. Support the efforts of and communicate the work of the Acts of Service client group.

Create social media and long-form content based on clinical programming and services and alumni client and family stories.

For example, create social media posts based on clinical skills, terms, and concepts. Create blog posts about clinical topics or therapeutic approaches based on interviews with clinical experts on staff. Create short video interviews of alumni clients and staff to share in social and email communications.

Competencies

Strong graphic design skills (knowledge of Canva, familiar with Adobe Creative Suite)

Previous experience creating email campaigns, including concept, copywriting, and design using software like Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar

Basic video production for social media (Canva, CapCut, or similar)

Copywriting skills

Experience with web content management system (WordPress or similar)

Strong project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and proven ability to meet deadlines consistently with team support

Qualifications

Bachelors or equivalent required (Preferred in communications, advertising, public relations, marketing, graphic design, journalism, or related field)

2–3 years professional experience in a communications role

Salary:

$44,000–47,000 /yr
