Junior Graphic Designer
This position has a starting pay range of $55,000.00 annually. Actual compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Summary/Objective The Junior Graphic Designer at Luci Creative supports the Visual Design team by creating clear, compelling, and highly crafted design assets across platforms. This role is hands‑on and production-forward, with a strong focus on
presentation design
(InDesign decks, PowerPoint and Keynotes with animations) and
social media assets , plus support for
print
and
digital submissions .
You bring an exceptional command of
typography, composition, and layout , and you work with care, speed, and accuracy. Bonus points if you proofread as you go, catching grammar and spelling issues before work leaves the studio.

Essential Job Functions Presentation Design & Storytelling
Design and format decks in
InDesign, PowerPoint, and Keynote , with strong hierarchy, pacing, and consistency.
Implement new Luci’s branding and style guidelines across applications (when applicable).
Build and maintain
slide systems and templates
that support team‑wide efficiency and quality.
Create
PowerPoint animations
that clarify ideas and add energy without distraction.
Translate complex information into clean, scannable visuals (charts, timelines, diagrams, tables).
Prepare exports for client review and delivery (PPTX, Keynote, PDF), ensuring files are reliable and polished.
Social Media & Digital Asset Production
Design social content across formats (feed, stories, reels, cover frames, carousels, event graphics).
Create fast, accurate variations and cutdowns while upholding brand integrity.
Organize production files and exports so they are easy to hand off, reuse, and update.
Print Assets & Submission Support
Support the team with print‑ready layouts (one‑pagers, posters, leave‑behinds, signage‑style pieces).
Prep files for print production (bleeds, trims, packaging, image editing, retouching, and resolution checks).
Help maintain consistent formatting and visual quality across all client‑facing submissions.
Quality Control & Proofreading (Strong Bonus)
Proofread for
spelling, grammar, punctuation, and consistency
while designing.
Catch issues in names, dates, captions, labels, and footnotes before final delivery.
Run final checks for alignment, spacing, export settings, and brand accuracy.
Collaboration & Studio Practices
Work closely with Visual Design, Strategy, and Project Management to meet scope, timing, and quality expectations.
Take and apply feedback quickly, keeping momentum during revisions.
Maintain strong file hygiene: naming, versioning, links, and clean handoffs.
Qualifications & Skills
2 to 3 years of professional design experience (agency, studio, in‑house, or freelance).
Portfolio showing strong
presentation design , plus examples of
social and print
work.
Exceptional command of
typography
(spacing, hierarchy, readability, craft).
Strong sense of
composition and visual rhythm across multi‑page layouts.
Proficiency in
Adobe Creative Suite , especially
InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop .
Strong skills in
PowerPoint
(including animation) and/or
Keynote .
Comfort working across formats and specs, from social sizes to print production requirements.
High attention to detail, strong organization, and pride in getting the “last 10%” right.
Preferred
Interest in
experience design and environmental graphics
(signage, wayfinding, large‑format storytelling).
Basic motion tools (After Effects) or strong animation instincts in PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Figma and/or collaborative tools (Miro, etc.).
Experience working with brand systems and template‑based design.
Work Environment & Travel Expectations This position operates in a professional studio environment (three days on‑site—we have offices in Chicago, New York City, and Seattle), involving close coordination with team members across disciplines. Occasional travel to client sites, installation support, or other Luci offices may be required.
