Chief of Staff

Amca, Los Angeles, California, United States, 90079

Save Job

About Amca Amca is building airplanes for the 21st century by rebuilding the industrial base that makes them possible.

We buy legacy aerospace and defense manufacturers, modernize them, and turn them into something the industry has not seen in decades: a single platform that can design, build, test, and scale flight‑critical hardware with speed and taste.

Overview Amca is looking for a Chief of Staff to our CEO, Jai, and COO, Eli. This person will be in nearly every meeting they are in and will join key travel, conferences, customer visits, supplier meetings, and acquisition work.

This role is for a rare profile: extremely organized, exceptionally intelligent, and relentlessly hard working. You will operate as a force multiplier for leadership. You will write, plan, coordinate, push projects over the finish line, and handle the thousand details that keep a fast‑growing manufacturing company moving.

This is not a “forever Chief of Staff” role. The intent is for the right person to naturally cycle into a growth or operations leadership role over time.

Responsibilities

Magnify the operating tempo for the CEO and COO

Own calendars, scheduling, travel logistics, meeting prep, and follow-through

Keep leadership focused on the highest leverage priorities, weekly and daily

Track decisions, owners, deadlines, and ensure closure across the organization

Chase people down, unblock issues, and elevate when needed

Write on behalf of leadership

Turn discussions into crisp summaries, clear next steps, and aligned narratives

Create internal memos that are thoughtful, direct, and action-oriented

Maintain Amca’s voice: literate, sober, high conviction, no fluff

Own cross‑team execution

Project manage strategic initiatives across subsidiaries, operations, growth, and internal execution

Coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and external partners

Build simple systems that actually get used (trackers, briefs, decision logs, weekly mtgs)

Prepare leadership for meetings with the right context, questions, and materials

Support research and presentation creation

Research markets, customers, suppliers, competitors, and potential acquisition targets

Build presentations and briefing documents for internal and external audiences

Gather information quickly, synthesize it cleanly, and recommend a direction

Represent the company with high trust and high standards

Be a strong communicator and relationship‑builder with internal teams and external stakeholders

Show up with energy, discipline, and emotional steadiness in high‑pressure situations

Travel as needed and handle constant change without losing quality or pace

Qualifications

Extremely organized

You are the person who creates order by default and closes loops without being asked

You can manage many threads at once without dropping critical details

Intelligent and exceptionally literate

You learn fast, see patterns quickly, and exercise strong judgment

You are an excellent writer with taste, clarity, and precision

You can communicate with executives, operators, and engineers without losing the thread

Relentlessly hard working and high energy

You are hungry, durable, and proud of outworking the room

You do not need external motivation to drive execution

You are willing to travel, do the unglamorous work, and handle whatever is needed

Strong with people

You are warm, direct, and trusted

You can push, follow up, and hold standards without creating drama

You can represent leadership well in writing and in person

High agency, high ownership

Self‑starter who thrives with minimal oversight

You see problems early and move toward them

You are a pure doer who can also think philosophically about what matters and why

Plus (not requirements)

Competitive athlete or similar track record of discipline

Built something real (business, community, organization)

Strong personal intellectual life (reading, writing, serious interests)

Experience in ops, startups, or high‑tempo environments
