Position Summary The Director, Social Media will oversee the health and management of the department, aligning paid and organic strategies with client objectives. The role requires leadership in campaign execution, optimization, and client-facing strategy, while driving innovation and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, develop, and implement long-term social media strategies connecting paid and organic efforts
Oversee campaign development and execution, ensuring deadlines and optimization best practices
Conduct performance tests, analyze data, and recommend updates to strategy, creative, or budgets
Collaborate with content and creative teams to provide insights and establish content processes
Campaign Management Oversight
Oversee day-to-day paid social campaign management (planning, setup, ad creation, budget pacing, testing, reporting, optimization)
Mentor and support the paid media management team, providing training and oversight
Serve as primary client-facing strategy lead, presenting insights and innovation opportunities
Collaborate with inter-agency teams to build integrated campaigns and share learnings
Thought Leadership
Stay current on digital technologies, social trends, and platform changes
Apply new tactics to campaigns to keep clients at the forefront of innovation
Partner with Omnichannel Team Leads to elevate digital practice and mentor colleagues
Business Development
Cultivate strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and identifying upselling opportunities
Represent the Social Media team in business development initiatives
Candidate Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
6+ years of experience in healthcare paid and organic social media (agency and FDA-regulated pharmaceutical preferred)
Other Required:
Strong understanding of social analytics, attribution, and optimization best practices
Exceptional client-facing communication and presentation skills
Passion for innovation and staying ahead of industry trends
Expertise in social platforms (Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, X, Bluesky, Pinterest, Google My Business)
Proficiency with analytics tools (Sprout Social, Looker Studio, Google Analytics)
Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to prioritize multiple projects
Domestic travel may be required, including overnight stays
