Job Description About the Role Dow Jones is seeking a creative and entrepreneurial Audio Producer well versed in business news, markets, and finance to produce a weekly financial news podcast from Barron’s and support audio needs across the department. The ideal candidate has experience producing fast‑paced news content, interviews, and video podcasts, and can turn around episodes quickly. The role involves working with the show host to select topics, structure episodes with multiple interviews, build multi‑track mixes, write scripts, and produce full video podcasts and clips. The producer also provides data and insights on audio performance to grow audience engagement.
You Will
Produce full episodes from start to finish, including researching, pitching ideas, booking guests, producing host reads and narration, fact‑checking, cutting tape, finding archival news clips, assembling mixes and scoring.
Schedule recordings with the podcast host.
Record and direct host recordings both remotely and in studio.
Coach reporters and editors on presenting for audio.
Book and schedule interviews, conduct pre‑interviews as needed.
Maintain the show production schedule, including meetings, interviews and recording sessions.
Produce and edit video podcasts and video clips from long‑form episodes.
Assist with production needs across other podcasts as needed.
Help grow audiences and promotion efforts across audio.
You Have
2–4 years of experience as an Audio Producer.
Ability and flexibility to work in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
Strong writing skills and experience building podcast episodes from start to finish.
Experience working with on‑air hosts.
Ability to juggle multiple tasks, problem‑solve, and execute against deadlines.
Professional‑level understanding of podcast and video editing tools such as Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Descript, and Premiere.
Interest and knowledge in business, finance, markets, and economics.
Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $86,000 – $105,000. In addition to competitive salary, the company offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, caregiving, wellbeing, transportation, and elective benefits. Pay‑for‑performance and bonus opportunities are available for eligible roles.
