This Air and Ocean Import / Export Specialist role has been approved as part of continued growth within a Houston-based international logistics operation and is suited to a hands-on operations professional with solid end-to-end forwarding experience.
This position focuses on the execution and coordination of international air and ocean shipments across import and export movements, supporting a varied customer base and multiple trade lanes.
Role Overview
Operational role covering air and ocean import and export shipments
Houston-based execution position with daily interaction across carriers, vendors, and customers
End-to-end file ownership from booking through final delivery and billing
Collaboration with internal teams to ensure compliant, timely cargo movement
Key Responsibilities
Execute international air and ocean import and export shipments from origin through delivery
Manage bookings, documentation, and shipment milestones across multiple files
Coordinate with airlines, steamship lines, trucking providers, warehouses, and overseas agents
Prepare, review, and process shipping documentation including BLs, AWBs, commercial invoices, and packing lists
Track shipment progress and proactively manage delays, exceptions, and service issues
Maintain compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable trade regulations
Required Experience
Prior experience in air and ocean freight forwarding operations
Working knowledge of import and export processes and shipping documentation
Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Exposure to port and airport operations preferred but not required
Strong attention to detail with clear communication and organisational skills
