Position Summary We are seeking a

Senior Tax Associate

with experience in private foundation and nonprofit tax compliance to join our growing tax practice. This role will focus on serving private foundations, high-net-worth individuals, and nonprofit organizations, while providing exposure to complex tax issues and opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

Prepare federal and state tax returns for private foundations and nonprofit organizations, including Forms 990, 990-PF, 990-T, 990-EZ, and related schedules.

Assist with compliance for excise taxes, charitable contribution substantiation, and grant‑making activities.

Support tax planning and advisory services for private foundations and affiliated high‑net‑worth individuals.

Research and analyze complex tax issues related to nonprofits, private foundations, and unrelated business income (UBI).

Coordinate with supervisors and managers to meet client deadlines and deliver high‑quality client service.

Review work prepared by associates and provide guidance and mentorship.

Communicate directly with clients to gather information and respond to questions.

Assist with IRS and state notices, audits, and inquiries as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university required.

3+ years of progressive public accounting experience, with demonstrated exposure to private foundation and nonprofit tax.

Active CPA license or EA certification preferred.

Strong knowledge of IRS regulations applicable to private foundations and tax‑exempt organizations.

Experience working with high‑net‑worth individuals and closely held entities is a plus.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to juggle priorities in a fast‑paced environment and supervise staff and interns on multiple engagements.

Proficient in performing, documenting, summarizing, and reviewing research conclusions regarding specific tax issues.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, Engagement).

Compensation The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 - $90,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location, as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications.
