The expected salary range for this position is $175,000 - $250,000 depending on experience. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Extraordinary Projects Need Exceptional Talent
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent with a focus on steel construction to oversee and manage all on-site steel-related activities on civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural and miscellaneous steel erection, coordination with fabricators and erectors, and ensuring all steel work complies with project specifications, safety standards, and schedules.
Job Description
Steel Work Oversight: Supervise and coordinate the erection of structural and miscellaneous steel components, including beams, columns, trusses, braces, stairs, railings, and connections.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and accurate installation of steel materials.
Site Management: Oversee daily field operations specific to steel work; monitor labor productivity, equipment usage, and safety compliance.
Quality Assurance: Ensure steel erection meets all quality standards, codes, and project specifications. Conduct inspections and verify tolerances, alignments, and connections.
Scheduling & Planning: Develop and maintain short-term and long-term schedules for steel activities in coordination with overall project timelines.
Safety Compliance: Enforce site safety protocols and promote a strong safety culture among steel crews. Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve field issues related to steel erection, including clashes, fabrication errors, or design discrepancies.
Documentation: Maintain daily reports, logs, and inspection records. Track progress against the schedule and document delays or issues as needed.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key liaison between field crews, project management, and design teams related to steel construction activities.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in civil or structural construction with a focus on steel erection
Proven experience as a superintendent or foreman on steel-intensive projects
In-depth knowledge of structural steel systems, drawings, welding, and bolting standards
Proven experience on movable bridge projects (bascule, swing, or lift bridges required)
Familiarity with AISC standards, steel erection sequencing, and rigging practices
Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications
Strong leadership and communication skills
OSHA 30 Certification (preferred)
NCCER or other steel erection certifications (a plus)
Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Civil infrastructure projects such as bridges, industrial facilities, or heavy civil works
Coordinating steel with concrete and other trades on complex sites
Working with union and non-union labor forces
