We are based in Norfolk and Ashland, VA and have an excellent team of employees who are responsible for the design, installation, service, and inspection of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, kitchen fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and kitchen hood/duct systems. We have an extensive customer base that we perform recurring inspection and repair services throughout the region. About The Opportunity The Fire Sprinkler Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising fire sprinkler installation crews on commercial, industrial, and/or residential projects. This role ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract documents, NFPA standards, and local codes. The Foreman coordinates labor, materials, and scheduling while maintaining quality workmanship and productivity.
Job Duties
Supervise, train, and lead fire sprinkler fitters and apprentices on job sites
Plan, layout, and oversee installation of fire sprinkler systems per drawings and specifications
Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and hydraulic calculations
Coordinate daily work activities, manpower, and material needs
Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local fire codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies
Conduct job site safety meetings and enforce safe work practices
Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and code compliance
Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades
Track labor hours, productivity, and report progress to management
Identify and resolve field issues, including design conflicts and material shortages
Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanlinessAssist with system testing, flushing, and final inspections as required
Qualifications
Minimum of 5–7 years of fire sprinkler installation experience
Previous supervisory or foreman experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 13R, and 13D standards
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Solid understanding of sprinkler materials, installation methods, and tools
Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Valid driver’s license
Compensation
Pay is hourly and is negotiable - dependent on candidate experience
