We are seeking a top-tier
Video Researcher & Editor
with a strong background in stock research to join a creative media team and support a variety of video initiatives. This group conceptualizes, designs, and produces content experiences for high-visibility digital products used by hundreds of millions of people around the world. The right candidate will help shape how audiences discover, experience, and engage with media content.
Location Remote (Must be in commutable distance to NYC**)
Duration 6 months (+benefits through 24Seven)
Rate $51-61/hr (DOE)
Key Qualifications
A deep understanding of editorial storytelling and narrative structure.
5+ years of relevant video research, video editing, or multimedia experience in a creatively driven environment (such as publishing, entertainment studios, or creative agencies serving those industries).
Broad knowledge of sources for existing video footage, including boutique syndication agencies, stock libraries, museums, and galleries.
Strong editing skills in Final Cut Pro and comparable non-linear editing software.
Working knowledge of rights, likeness restrictions, contract negotiation, and legal clearance processes related to licensed content.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
Highly collaborative team player who builds strong working relationships and enjoys partnering with cross-functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Proactively research, identify, and license compelling video assets for a range of creative projects.
Collaborate closely with designers, producers, and other creatives to translate conceptual ideas into impactful visual stories.
Contribute to brainstorming sessions and help shape the visual direction of content experiences.
Edit and refine footage to deliver polished, high-quality video pieces that align with creative and strategic goals.
Ensure that all sourced and edited content meets legal, rights, and usage requirements.
Apply strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Continuously explore new sources, techniques, and approaches to enrich the user experience with innovative photo and video content.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
