Base pay range

$25.90 per hour - $56.00 per hour

Beyond TV, our newsrooms publish via the Spectrum News app and connected television, ensuring 24‑hour coverage wherever viewers want it.

What You'll Do

• Plan daily news, special events and story development, managing schedules and adjusting for daily and long‑term coverage.
• Stay up to date on government and community agendas to anticipate ongoing stories and plan accordingly/archive?
• Write and edit stories as needed.
Collaborate with reporters, newsroom managers and executive producers to.ta create compelling, timely and accurate content across traditional and digital platforms.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a television newsroom, with at least 3+ years as an Assignment Editor.
• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communication or comparable television work experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to clearly communicate solutions; strong ability to relate well with diverse populations.
• Ability to develop sources, organise and manage multiple priorities, work under tightiggs deadlines, and lift up to 5 lb.
• Must be open to travel to discover important stories and interact with the community as needed.
• Flexible to work various shifts, be ready for schedule changes, and cover stand‑by responsibilities when assigned.
• Works in a climate‑controlled environment throughout the year, in an open newsroom setting with a semi‑noisy environment, and communicates in person, by phone, and by email.
