Boston University’s award-winning External Affairs division seeks a Senior Producer/Editor. The Senior Producer/Editor reports to the Executive Producer/Creative Director and is a member of the team of Producer/Editors within Boston University Productions. The individual is responsible for regularly producing high-quality, high‑visibility, engaging video content firmly rooted in solid storytelling. The long‑form video content (2.5‑7 minutes) produced by this position will be used on the University’s news and social media channels. On a continual basis, this position will pitch story ideas that best highlight notable stories and accomplishments among the University’s students, staff, faculty, and alumni while meeting strategic initiatives outlined by the Executive Producer. Occasionally, this position will also be required to execute high‑level video work regarding messaging and/or explanation of complex concepts that require appropriate judgment and discretion for the situation. The Senior Producer/Editor should be able to navigate a variety of interview subjects with the appropriate tone, composure, diplomacy, and discretion: casual conversations with undergrads, heady discussions with researchers, and respectful rapport with deans and administrators.
