The Opportunity This position is based at our Lake County, Abbott Park, Illinois site within the Corporate HR division. Join Abbott’s world‑class Talent Acquisition team as a Manager, Talent Acquisition Strategy & Operations. Our team delivers high‑impact solutions through innovative technology that enhances the hiring manager and candidate experience while improving recruiter efficiency. We partner closely with internal HR Technology teams and external vendors to implement and optimize recruiting platforms globally.
What You’ll Work On
Lead and deliver global Talent Acquisition (TA) initiatives focused on process optimization, technology enablement, and operational excellence.
Oversee North American TA operations, including ATS administration, workflow improvements, and data‑driven analytics.
Partner with cross‑functional teams (GHRS, HR, Legal, Procurement) to ensure compliance and seamless integration of TA processes.
Drive change management for new tools and processes through effective training, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
Manage vendor relationships and evaluate technology solutions to align with business objectives.
Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing team that drives innovation and results.
What You’ll Bring Technical & Platform Expertise
Hands‑on experience with ATS and CRM platforms (preferably Workday and Phenom or similar).
Strong understanding of HRIS integrations and connectivity across TA systems.
Proficiency in recruitment analytics and reporting (e.g., time‑to‑fill, source effectiveness).
Familiarity with automation and AI‑driven tools that enhance sourcing, screening, and candidate engagement.
Strategic & Analytical Thinking
Ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend technology‑driven improvements.
Experience leading global change management initiatives.
Skilled in evaluating and selecting technology vendors to meet organizational needs.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Consultative approach to translating business needs into scalable process and technology solutions.
Strong stakeholder management skills, including presenting opportunities and navigating complex conversations.
Experience designing and delivering training programs for recruiters and hiring managers.
Project & Program Leadership
Led multiple TA technology implementation projects and process rollouts, driving successful delivery and adoption across global teams.
Applied agile methodologies and iterative deployment strategies to ensure timely execution and continuous improvement.
Oversaw documentation, governance, and compliance, promoting consistent system usage and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, HR Information Systems, or HR Technology.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook, Power Apps, PowerPoint).
Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (HR Communications, Recruitment Leads, HRIT, etc.).
Adaptability in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
On‑site position.
Preferred Qualifications
Six Sigma certification.
Prior experience with Workday or Phenom.
Background in project management, technology implementations, or recruiting.
Highly organized, process‑driven, and intellectually curious.
