The Digital Marketing Specialist is a strategic, creative, and execution-focused marketing professional who serves as the Brand Manager’s right hand across all digital channels.
This role owns the planning, execution, and optimization of Cedar Lakes’ digital presence, including social media, content strategy, email marketing, performance marketing, and asset management. This is not an assistant role. The Digital Marketing Specialist is expected to think proactively, contribute strategically, and execute independently while collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners.
This role works in close partnership with the Assistant Brand Manager, who focuses on on-site brand execution, production, operations, and physical brand touchpoints. Together, these roles ensure that Cedar Lakes’ story is expressed consistently both online and on property.
DUTIES
Own the strategy, planning, and execution of all social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and emerging channels Develop quarterly and monthly content calendars aligned with campaigns, seasons, and business priorities Concept and guide content themes, storytelling arcs, and series that elevate the Cedar Lakes brand Ensure consistency in brand voice, visual identity, and overall aesthetic across all digital platforms Manage day-to-day posting, engagement, and community interaction Plan and coordinate content capture across weddings, retreats, hotel weekends, and brand moments Collaborate with internal teams and external photographers and videographers to define content needs in advance Maintain and organize a comprehensive photo and video library, including tagging, usage rights, and internal accessibility Identify gaps in the content library and proactively plan shoots or capture moments to address them EMAIL MARKETING & CRM SUPPORT
Own the strategy, writing, and execution of email marketing across key audiences, including weddings, retreats, alumni, hotel guests, and partners Develop campaign-based emails and automated flows in partnership with sales and operations Support CRM initiatives by aligning messaging, segmentation, and timing to the customer journey Monitor performance and optimize open rates, click-throughs, and conversions MARKETING
Assist CEO and Branding Manager in maintaining an extensive photo library. Sorting new photos and tagging them correctly in Google Photos. Work with the Event Planning team for coordination of styled photoshoots. Determine photo needs in advance. Own and actively manage Cedar Lakes’ full online presence across key platforms, including but not limited to Google, Tock, Over The Moon, Carats + Cake, and other relevant blogs, directories, and booking platforms. Ensure all profiles are accurate, up to date, on-brand, and optimized for visibility and conversion. Identify and recommend new platforms and profiles to expand reach and improve demand generation. PERFORMANCE MARKETING & ANALYTICS
Track and report on performance across social media, email, website traffic, and campaign initiatives Partner with the Brand Manager to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations Support paid social and performance marketing efforts as needed, including testing and optimization Help build a more data-informed marketing function that ties storytelling directly to business outcomes COLLABORATION & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL WORK
Work closely with the Brand Manager on campaign development, launches, and reporting Collaborate with the Assistant Brand Manager to ensure digital storytelling aligns with on-site brand execution Coordinate closely with PR partners to amplify campaigns, press moments, and partnerships across Cedar Lakes’ digital channels, including timely promotion of earned press coverage when it is secured. Support business development initiatives by creating digital assets, content, and follow-up materials QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
3 to 5 years of experience in digital marketing, social media, or content strategy Experience working with luxury, hospitality, lifestyle, or design-driven brands strongly preferred Proven ability to develop and execute digital strategies, not just post content Strong visual and editorial sensibility with an understanding of elevated brand storytelling Experience managing content libraries and collaborating with photographers and creatives Familiarity with email marketing platforms and CRM tools Comfort working with analytics and performance data to inform decisions Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities SKILLS & TOOLS
Strong writing and editing skills with an understanding of brand voice and tone Proficiency across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and social analytics tools Experience with Google Drive, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and content management systems Familiarity with email marketing platforms and CRM systems Ability to balance creative intuition with data-driven thinking WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

This is a hybrid role with an expected on-site presence at Cedar Lakes two days per week, and the flexibility to work remotely up to three days per week, depending on project needs and the marketing calendar. This is a full-time role (approximately 40 hours per week), with the understanding that hours may flex at times to support events, content capture, launches, and key brand moments. Flexibility is essential, as our business is seasonal and event-driven. This position sits within a growing brand and marketing team with expanding scope and impact across the business. We are looking for someone who is excited to grow with Cedar Lakes, take ownership over time, and help shape the future of our digital presence as the brand continues to evolve.
