Position Summary
The Communications Manager is responsible for shaping and amplifying BNI’s external voice through compelling storytelling, content development, public relations, and social media. This role focuses exclusively on outward‑facing communications that elevate brand visibility, reinforce credibility, and support global growth initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role blends strategic communications with hands‑on execution, performance optimization, cross‑functional collaboration, and global brand stewardship.
Roles and Responsibilities External Brand & Messaging
Lead the development and execution of BNI’s external‑facing brand voice across public channels, including social media, content marketing, PR, and thought leadership.
Translate established brand positioning and messaging into compelling external narratives that support global growth priorities.
Partner closely with internal communications leadership to ensure alignment between internal and external messaging, while maintaining clear ownership of outward‑facing communications.
Ensure external content reflects BNI’s values, credibility, and market positioning, adapting messaging as needed for global audiences.
Content Creation & Thought Leadership
Lead the development of high‑quality external content, including blogs, articles, campaign messaging, and long‑form storytelling that elevates BNI’s brand and credibility.
Support executive and leadership thought leadership by drafting and refining external‑facing content, including social posts, articles, and talking points.
Translate complex business concepts into clear, engaging narratives for a global audience of business owners, partners, and franchise prospects.
Partner with internal subject‑matter experts and marketing teams to identify compelling stories, insights, and data that support BNI’s growth priorities.
Social Media Strategy & Execution
Lead the evolution of BNI’s global social media strategy, refreshing approach, positioning, and content mix to better support brand awareness, engagement, and growth objectives.
Develop and execute a plan to launch and scale BNI’s presence on new priority platforms, including TikTok, as part of the 2026 social media roadmap.
Own hands‑on creation, scheduling, and posting of social content across priority platforms, ensuring consistency in voice, quality, and cadence.
Manage social content calendars, write platform‑specific copy, and collaborate on creative assets that reflect BNI’s brand and audience expectations.
Monitor performance, engagement, and platform trends, using insights to continuously refine content and improve results over time.
Brand & Executive Awards Strategy
Own the strategy, planning, and execution of brand, company, and executive award submissions across relevant business, franchise, marketing, and leadership programs.
Identify high‑impact award opportunities that align with BNI’s brand positioning, growth milestones, and leadership narratives.
Develop compelling award submissions, including written narratives, supporting data, and proof points.
Partner with marketing, leadership, and subject‑matter experts to gather inputs and validate submissions.
Maintain an awards calendar to ensure timely, high‑quality submissions throughout the year.
Leverage award wins and shortlists across external channels, including social media and PR, to maximize visibility and impact.
Global Collaboration & Brand Governance
Partner with regional and market teams to adapt external messaging for local audiences while maintaining consistency with BNI’s global brand and positioning.
Provide guidance, templates, and examples to support effective external communications across markets.
Help identify best practices and successful external campaigns that can be scaled or replicated globally.
Serve as a resource to regional teams on external content, social media, and PR approaches, without owning local execution.

5–8+ years of experience in growth marketing, demand generation, partner marketing, or franchise marketing
Proven experience supporting lead‑driven sales organizations
Strong understanding of digital marketing performance metrics, funnels, and optimization
Exceptional project management and cross‑functional coordination skills
Experience working in fast‑paced, multi‑market or global environments
Preferred
Franchise, B2B, SaaS, multi‑location, or platform business experience
Experience supporting partnerships or channel marketing programs
Physical Demands and Working Conditions Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
