Job Summary The Designer will play a key role in supporting the Creative Design Manager by producing high-quality, localized design assets for our family-owned broadcasting company in all local markets of Morgan Murphy Media and for Corporate. This position focuses on executing creative concepts, ensuring brand consistency, and delivering compelling visual content that resonates with diverse local audiences. The ideal candidate will have strong design skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit to work with multiple teams. Reports to the Morgan Murphy Media Creative Design Manager in the corporate marketing group. Our preference is this role is based on site in Madison, Wisconsin but we will consider remote candidates.

Duties And Responsibilities Design Production and Execution

Assist in designing and producing a wide variety of on-air, digital, and print materials, including station graphics, promotional ads, social media content, event collateral, and website visuals.

Work closely with the Creative Design Manager and Marketing Group to bring brand-aligned and community-focused designs to life.

Prepare final design files for production and distribution, ensuring accuracy and quality.

Brand Consistency

Follow established brand guidelines for all design work, adapting assets to suit the unique identity of each local market.

Support the maintenance of brand standards across stations by applying consistent visual elements and styles.

Help implement updates and new brand assets as directed by the Creative Design Manager.

Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate with marketing, production, and station teams to understand project requirements and deliver timely design solutions.

Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to refine work.

Maintain organized design files and asset libraries for team access.

Project Support and Continuous Learning

Manage assigned design tasks within project timelines, supporting multiple station needs.

Stay informed about current design trends and local market preferences to contribute fresh ideas.

Assist in exploring and testing innovative design techniques that enhance local brand engagement.

Qualifications Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in graphic design, preferably within the broadcasting or media industry.

Skills

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, After Effects, etc) and experience with design software tailored to broadcasting needs.

Strong understanding of local branding, typography, color theory, and layout principles.

Ability to collaborate with multiple teams across different locations, handling feedback constructively and diplomatically.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with video graphics playout systems (Chyron, Ross Xpression, etc)

Basic understanding of HTML and web design.
