SLI Group, Inc. is seeking a Commercial Interior Designer to join our integrated design and construction team. Established in 1976, SLI has delivered design-build facilities across Texas for financial institutions, schools, fire departments, churches, and municipal clients. Our team provides complete architectural, engineering, and construction services through a fully integrated design-build team, allowing designers to be directly involved from concept through construction.
This position in intended for a confident, experienced designer who can immediately be client facing, lead finish selection meetings, and represent the firm in owner presentations. This is a long-term career opportunity with leadership growth potential inside a rapidly expanding design-build organization.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead client meetings for interior finish selections and space planning
Develop interior layouts, finish plans, and furniture layouts for commercial facilities
Select interior materials, finishes, and fixture
Prepare presentation materials for owners, boards, and municipal committees
Coordinate directly with in-house architects, contracted engineering partners, and construction staff under the SLI design-build team
Produce construction-ready drawings in Revit and AutoCAD
Participate in value engineering and budget coordination
Support marketing and proposal graphics when needed
Produce or assist in the development of interior renderings for client presentations
Required Skills
A bachelor's degree in interior design with NCIDQ eligibility certification is preferred
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
Strong understanding of commercial interior construction and detailing
Professional presentation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Organized and detail oriented
Interior rendering capabilities or strong working knowledge of rendering software is strongly preferred

As the firm continues to grow, the Senior Interior Designer role is intended to strengthen our interior design depth and expand our client‑facing presence and design voice across projects and business development efforts.
This role is well suited for a designer who wants to move beyond project execution and actively contribute to how the firm represents itself to clients, partners, and the broader community.
Designers in this role will have opportunities to:
Take ownership of client presentations and proposal development
Collaborate on marketing strategy, branding, and firmwide visual standards
Participate in RFQ's, interviews, and business development efforts
Help shape the firm's interior design voice and presentation approach
Expand their scope of influence through increased client engagement and project ownership
Travel Requirements SLI Group, Inc, completes design-build projects throughout the State of Texas. This role will require limited short-term travel for client design meetings and project walkthroughs. Travel typically involves same-day departure and return. Occasional overnight stays may be required due to distance. There trips are generally infrequent and are planned well in advance.
