Under the supervision of the Director of Public Information, this role plans, develops and deploys a comprehensive strategy to facilitate effective, timely, and impactful information or education communications that enable an agency to engage with its respective audiences using appropriate visual communications platforms. Provides strategic direction for or executes the creation of shot sheets, storyboards, print layouts and concepts for graphics branding packages consistent with agency brand standards and in line with the communications strategy. Conceives and implements concepts, guidelines and strategies in various video projects and oversees them to completion.

Responsibilities of the Visual Media Designer II:

Serves as the lead designer on the agency's visual media content to include podcasts, livestreams, social media, videos, and photos.

Takes photos, shoots video and/or designs graphics for all agency communications activities and divisions.

Provides strategic direction for creation of visual media assets to align with brand guidelines.

Media production activities include and are not limited to live production of agency events, promotional videos, live video streaming, and custom video and digital assets.

Work closely with internal stakeholders and subject-matter experts, community and civic leaders, and other content creators to develop program ideas and content.

All other related job duties/responsibilities as assigned.

An associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in media arts, Journalism and Mass Communications, public relations, visual arts, or related field of study with two years of work experience will be considered. Candidate should submit an electronic portfolio or provide link to portfolio website.

Additional Requirements: May require some overnight travel and work beyond 37.5 hour/week and could include nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
