Position Overview We are seeking an experienced

Designer / Selections Coordinator (1099)

to partner with our Project Managers and clients on high-quality residential remodeling projects. This is not a drafting or architectural drawing role. If you love guiding clients through finishes, fixtures, layouts, and material selections—while keeping everything organized, build‑ready, and drama‑free—this role was built for you.

Responsibilities As Designer / Selections Coordinator, you will manage the entire selections and design coordination process for assigned residential remodeling projects—ensuring that what enters production is clearly defined, coordinated, and executablep>

Scope of Work Design & Selections Coordination

Lead clients through finish and material selections including cabinetry, flooring, tile, countertops, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, and appliances

Coordinate space planning and layout intent with Project Managers and field teams

Maintain selections schedules, approvals, and budget alignment

Identify and resolve design questions early to prevent rework or delays

Documentation & Construction Alignment

Translate selections into organized, build‑ready documentation

Coordinate with vendors and showrooms to confirm specifications and lead times

Track revisions, approvals, and changes with precision

Ensure selections align with scope, sequencing, and procurement needs

Client & Team Communication

Serve as a steady, professional guide for clients during the design phase

Communicate clearly with Project Managers, vendors, and leadership

Reduce ambiguity through proactive clarification and disciplined follow‑through

Ideal Contractor Profile

5+ years of experience in residential design, selections coordination, or interior design within a construction environment

Strong understanding of residential construction processes, sequencing, and constraints

Highly organized with excellent documentation and follow‑through habits

Confident, professional client communication skills

Ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously

Operates as an independent contractor with their own professional tools, systems, and judgment

Independent Contractor Disclosure (Texas‑Compliant)

Maintain control over how work is performed

Use their own professional tools, systems, and methods

Determine their work schedule within agreed project milestones

Invoice Gill Construction for services rendered

Be responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and business expenses

Contract Structure

1099 Independent Contractor role

Compensation structured per project, per phase, or monthly retainer (based on experience and scope)
