PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF POSITION
To grow sales in a profitable manner, manage and service existing customers, and be a goodwill ambassador for the Company. Support efforts to exceed customer expectations for timely delivery of quality products, utilizing good general business practices that are in full compliance with any state or federal requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Understand the complete line of chemicals and equipment products offered by the company. Responsible for managing assigned customers in a professional manner, always following company policies. Able to perform chemical testing, quality analysis, write service and prospect reports, implement product inventory controls, place product orders, conduct safety training and business review meetings, as well as troubleshoot various equipment, chemical, and microbiological issues. Perform food plant and farm sanitation audits/inspections, if required/assigned. Troubleshoot on farm equipment, chemical, and microbiological issues, if required/assigned. Provide organic growth opportunities with existing customers. Grow the assigned territory in a way that positively impacts the goals of sustainability as described by the company. After compiling the information from facility audits, one must be capable of presenting the information and closing the sale. Responsible for collecting past due invoices from customers who have not paid their bills within the company policy or credit terms. Responsible for meeting yearly sales and expense budget. Responsible for continuous improvement in all aspects of the position. May be required to occasionally work evening and weekend hours as needed to ensure proper completion of duties. Travel required, including overnight trips by car or airplane for customer or vendor visits. Required Skills and Abilities
Previous sales experience, along with experience establishing a sales territory Possess knowledge of chemistry and understanding of farm sanitation and/or animal health Must be a self-starter and driven by success Excellent verbal and written communication skills Attentive and timely responses and follow-through for coworkers and customers Valid driver's license Daily travel in assigned territory (Up to 50% overnight) Sales experience preferred but not required; farm experience may not apply. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, food/dairy science, microbiology or business-related field Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in service and sales in the industries we support and work with
