Job Description
Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.
Cultivates and maintains partnerships with community service organizations; Demonstrates knowledge of available community resources; Provides information, referral and assistance from sources, both on and off campus, to support student success. Assists in locating community resources such as housing, clothing, utilities, and food, and assists students with personal budgeting and finances. Plans and orchestrates collaborative outreach efforts, marketing and public relations. Compile data and prepare reports.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Coursework or experience in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or other related field, experience working with local, state, and federal public and community resources. Demonstrated ability to provide administrative case management, including direct contact with clients and other providers, as well as administrative duties. Skilled in coordinating, directing, evaluating, and implementing case management services for individuals with multiple personal and life challenges
