Position Summary The WIC Outreach Specialist joins our Outreach Team within our WIC Program at Urban Health Plan. The outreach team conducts community outreach, public education, and promotes all health initiatives for the department in order to improve the health and wellness of Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). This position is based in Bronx and requires public health details and community outreach in support of our WIC Locations at Urban Health Plan.

Minimum Qualifications

Highschool/GED diploma required

Passion for the WIC Program with understanding of the value it brings to our communities.

An ability to conduct outreach in high need communities with at least 1-2 years of related experience with tabling, community engagement, community partnerships, or cultivating community resources, field work, etc.

Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Key Duties

Promotes the WIC Program, mission, vision, and services to our communities.

Represents the WIC Program to providers and provides information about services.

Attend meetings with community partners.

Works closely with the Outreach Coordinator to meet outreach goals of the WIC Program.

Updates WIC formulary and referral forms.

Conducts outreach activities when required across our three WIC locations (2 in the Bronx, 1 in Corona, Queens).

Visits medical offices to network and build new partnerships with staff and providers.

Document Outreach activities in NYWIC.

Other duties as related to outreach activities for the WIC Program.

Starting Compensation Minimum $21.00 per hour; Maximum $22.82 per hour

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule Applicants must be comfortable working onsite, based out of the Bronx and have the ability to commit to a schedule of 35 hours per week, working Monday through Friday 9am-5pm with some off‑peak availability included Saturdays as needed for special outreach events. The position is primarily onsite; however after a training period, an option for one remote day/hybrid is available.
