Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and accountable HVAC Sales Operations Manager to lead our Mechanical Division, overseeing HVAC Service and Project work. This role serves as the single point of accountability for culture, strategy, operational execution, and financial performance. The HVAC Sales Operations Manager will drive sustainable growth, ensure operational excellence, and lead/manage high-performing sales and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Financial Leadership:
Serve as the single point of accountability for the operating unit’s performance, including revenue, operating income, cash flow, and overall financial results. Review and analyze financial statements, sales activity, and operational metrics to drive performance and alignment.
P&L Ownership:
Own full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, and managing performance to budget. Lead the development of the annual operating plan and execute strategies to achieve financial targets.
Operational Oversight:
Provide leadership and oversight for HVAC Service and Construction operations, ensuring coordination across functions and consistent delivery of high-quality service.
Sales & Customer Strategy:
Establish and maintain strong strategic customer relationships. Support personal sales efforts while holding sales teams accountable for meeting and exceeding revenue goals.
Team Leadership & Talent Development:
Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent across operations and sales roles. Develop team members through coaching, performance management, and career development opportunities.
Safety & Compliance:
Partner with the Safety Manager to ensure compliance with safety requirements, lead continuous improvement in safety practices, and support monthly safety meetings.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Align service and construction teams to maximize efficiency, collaboration, and customer satisfaction.
Performance Management:
Set clear goals, monitor performance, and ensure accountability at all levels of the organization. Conduct regular reviews and provide actionable feedback.
Reporting & Communication:
Prepare and present Monthly Business Operating Reports to senior leadership, highlighting results, trends, risks, and action plans.
Culture & Values:
Lead by example in reinforcing company culture, values, and ethical business practices across the organization.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as required to support business objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent technical certification and experience.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive P&L leadership experience within HVAC, mechanical service and/or construction.
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems.
Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary teams and delivering consistent financial results.
Proven ability to analyze financial statements, key performance indicators, and operational data to drive decision-making.
Experience preparing and presenting executive-level business and operating reports.
Strong sales leadership experience with the ability to support growth in a team-based, collaborative environment.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability to enterprise leadership.
Willingness to travel within regional operations as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility This position directly oversees office, sales, and field leadership with responsibility for performance management, hiring, and development of employees across HVAC service and construction. Proven experience managing mechanical service and construction operations is required.
