Overview
Woodway Country Club is a private member-owned facility in the Metropolitan PGA Section. Woodway is located in lower Fairfield County, roughly one hour from New York City. Founded in 1916 and designed by Willie Park, Jr., the club offers several amenities. These amenities include an 18-hole golf course (ranked in the top 15 in the state and top 100 classic courses by Golfweek Magazine), a driving range, two short game areas, practice putting green, tennis courts, paddle tennis courts, a swimming complex, and a beach club.
The club has an active golfing membership with over 500 members. Annual rounds of golf average 23,000. Yearly golf activities include member tournaments, outings, multiple junior programs, group clinics, and private instruction.
The term of the position is April 1st through November 1st.
Experience Required
PGA Class A or Apprentice in good standing with the PGA of America.
1-3 years of experience as an Assistant Golf Professional, preferably at a private club.
Familiarity with Golf Genius, ForeTees, and launch monitor technology.
Excellent communication skills.
A team player with a friendly and welcoming personality.
Strong organizational skills.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all members and guests.
Provide instruction to members of all skill levels in a one-on-one setting, as well as a group setting focusing on player development and the growth of golf.
Conduct club fitting and equipment analysis to help members improve their games.
Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of all tournaments.
Play golf with a variety of Members in casual and competitive situations.
