JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the installation of company's jobs according to quality standards and job specifications. Manages installation crews, spot checks installation at job sites, ensures equipment and products are ready and available, and that jobs are scheduled far enough in advance for installation crews to understand the specifications, location and duration of each job. Accurately maintains all inventory of job materials including ordering, unloading and loading shipments, and overseeing re-stock and put away of all materials. Responsible for all crew company vehicles. Presents pertinent information at operational meetings and serves as resource for sales force. Supports the management and mission of the company. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Manages the Production Department staff by hiring, allocating work, orientation and training, setting performance expectations, evaluating performance outcomes, rewarding and recognizing excellent work, and recommending wage changes, promotions or transfers. Communicates regularly with staff members through individual and group meetings. Develops installation skills in staff members by delivering on-the-job training and classroom training. When necessary, disciplines and/or terminates staff. (30%)

Oversees the scheduling of jobs to ensure the appropriate placement of crews and most efficient use of company resources. Helps keep job schedules up-to-date. Ensures appropriate equipment is available and operative, special products are pre-ordered, inventory supply is available, and installation crews understand the specifications, location, and duration of jobs. Orders and tracks production materials and supplies. (30%)

Responsible for applying for and receiving appropriate permits in those jurisdictions which require permitting. Keeps up-to-date on permitting regulations and requirements. (10%)

Visits job sites to recognize and/or re-direct staff behaviors, encourage continuous improvement, and find ways to gain efficiencies and more effective installation methods. Ensures that jobs are installed and completed according to quality standards, safety standards, and job specifications. (10%)

Prepares installation, safety or other related information and materials to present at weekly production meetings. (5%)

Assists sales and other employees with technical aspects of system installations. (5%)

Collaborates with other managers to create efficiencies related to production activities. (5%)

Reviews D.O.T. Driver logs to verify accuracy. Holds drivers accountable for correct documentation conceming all pertinent information. Maintains Drivers Qualifications Files, ensuring all pertinent information is contained in the file and is up-to-date. (5%)

Regular and punctual attendance. Ability to legally drive a motor vehicle.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management, a

ssists and supports business planning when needed. DIRECT REPORTS: Foremen, Co-Foremen, Installers NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSAs) and TALENTS: Knowledge of construction, concrete or related principles and practices.

Knowledge of basement systems including piers, anchors, and waterproofing.

Knowledge of Roofing best practices

Knowledge of inventory and procurement practices.

Skill in operating personal computer and programs such as Microsoft Office, and other business software.

Skill in logic and math.

Skill in one of the trades-construction, concrete, architecture.

Ability to interpret complex information or instructions into understandable job specifications, measurements, instructions and standards.

Ability to order and manage inventory.

Ability to communicate with subordinates about job generalities and specifics-to give instruction.

Ability to motivate, guide and direct others to produce expected production outcomes.

Possess talent and personal traits: Self Management Leading Others Accountability for Others Results Orientation Customer Focus Self Starting EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field preferred; Associate Degree in business; Two (2) years experience as a foreman in the construction, renovation, waterproofing or related field; or, An equivalent combination of education and experience to illustrate a proven track record in the business field. PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS for Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling: Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Job involves sitting most of the time, yet the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of forces greater than for Sedentary Work.
