Tool And Die Maker
Location: Lansing, MI Pay Rate: $25--$31+/HR, commensurate with experience Schedule: Monday -- Friday 1st Shift: 6:30 AM -- 5:00 PM 2nd Shift: 5:00 PM -- 3:30 AM Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tool and Die Maker to support high-quality machining operations that meet both customer and company standards. This role is essential in delivering timely, cost-effective tooling while contributing to a collaborative and high-performance team environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Fabrication of Line, Transfer, Gang, and Progressive tooling for sheet metal dies Perform both component and conventional builds Troubleshoot and implement best-practice solutions Operate independently while collaborating effectively with team members Address die-related issues impacting product quality Perform press operations and tryouts Efficiently operate tool room equipment Welding as necessary Support continuous improvement and customer satisfaction Maintain awareness of department operations for improved efficiency Ensure accountability for product, process, and service quality Complete additional duties as needed Educational & Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 2 years of Tool & Die experience Knowledge of tool and die industry processes (required) CAD/CAM programming experience preferred Training opportunities provided Skills & Abilities
Experience operating CNC and manual machines, presses, cranes, and fork trucks Strong computer knowledge including Windows and MS Office Solid problem-solving and initiative-based decision-making Effective written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is a plus Physical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout facility PPE required --- safety glasses on the shop floor Primarily a manufacturing floor environment Occasional travel may be required Performance Expectations
