Loss Mitigation Representative
Pay: $23.00/hour + Monthly Bonus (up to $500) Location: On-site (Training period) Schedule: + Training: Mandatory, 3 weeks on-site, MonFri, 9 AM6 PM + Post-training: 7 AM4 PM or 9 AM6 PM (based on preference) About the Role
Join Valon's Default Servicing Team, which plays a critical role in preventing foreclosures and supporting homeowners in financial hardship. As a Loss Mitigation Representative, you will be the primary point of contact for homeowners in default, helping them navigate complex mortgage assistance options and avoid foreclosure. Responsibilities
Complete assigned queues promptly and accurately. Communicate with clients regarding delinquent borrowers and default milestones (bankruptcy, foreclosure, loss mitigation, collections). Respond to inquiries from clients, investors, homeowners, and internal teams in compliance with SLAs and regulatory guidelines (RESPA, state, federal). Coordinate with foreclosure attorneys for bidding instructions, payoff/reinstatement quotes, and account updates. Evaluate homeowner eligibility for mortgage assistance programs. Negotiate and draft workout agreements, trial repayment plans, forbearance plans, and other loss mitigation agreements. Monitor pre-foreclosure and foreclosure populations and generate related reports. Handle escalated delinquent accounts with professionalism and urgency. Skills & Qualifications
Ideal Background: + Previous experience with escalated delinquent accounts, foreclosure, and bankruptcy. + Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Minimum Requirements: + 1+ years of experience in collections and/or loss mitigation. + High school diploma or GED required. + Experience in mortgage servicing, portfolio management, or default servicing. + Familiarity with GSE servicing (loan modifications, forbearances). + Excellent oral and written communication skills. + Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
