Job Overview
Summer House on Music Lane is looking for a Runner/Server Assistant. The candidate will assist food service employees in delivering food to tables, maintain cleanliness, attend to needs behind the bar, clean tables, carry dirty dishes, replace soiled table linens, set tables, replenish supplies of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes, and serve water, appetizers and coffee to patrons.

Summer House on Music Lane, the full‑service restaurant at Hotel Magdalena, is inspired by casual sophistication that defines a lake house weekend. The menu features honest cooking taking cues from old‑school hospitality but with a decidedly unpretentious, Austin sensibility.
Key Responsibilities
Assist food service employees in delivering food to tables.
Maintain cleanliness of food service areas and restaurant spaces.
Attend to needs behind the bar.
Clean tables, carry dirty dishes, and replace soiled table linens.
Set tables and replenish supplies of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes.
Serve water, appetizers, and coffee to patrons.
Stock beverage and ice dispensers, cabinets, and serving areas and replenish supplies at service bars/satellite stations.
Stock refrigerating units with wines and bottled beer, and replace empty beer keg.
Scrape and stack dirty dishes, and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchens for cleaning.
Wash glasses and other serving equipment at bars.
Clean up spilled food, drink, broken dishes, and remove empty bottles and trash.
Serve ice water, coffee, and standard appetizers to patrons.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area.
Ensure all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Job Requirements
Adhere to dress code policies during shift.
Perform serving, cleaning, and stocking duties to facilitate customer service.
Ensure immediate response to any guest comments and concerns and inform supervisor as necessary.
Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays.
Ensure beverage and ice dispensers, cabinets, and serving areas are stocked.
Replenish supplies of food and equipment at service bars and satellite service stations.
Stock refrigerating units with wines and bottled beer, and replace empty beer keg.
Set tables with clean linens and condiments.
Scrape and stack dirty dishes, and carry dishes and tableware to kitchens for cleaning.
Clean tables, counters, shelves, walls, furniture, and equipment in food service areas and other areas of restaurants; mop and vacuum floors.
Wash glasses and other serving equipment at bars.
Clean up spilled food, drink, and broken dishes, and remove empty bottles and trash.
Serve ice water, coffee, and standard appetizers to patrons.
Maintain open lines of communication with all departments and upper management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are met.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area.
Ensure equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition.
Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property.
Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements.
Attend relevant meetings and adhere to all standards of operations, policies, and procedures.
Expect to perform additional tasks and duties as required by fluctuating demands of the operation.

Working Conditions/Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a hotel/restaurant/office setting.
Employee may have to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds requires a minimum of two (2) persons.
Employee may have to remain stationary for one (1) hour, move about/traverse property spaces, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for up to eight (8) hours per day.
