The Kenosha County Parks Division is accepting applications for a short-term Graphic Designer for the 2026 season.
Kenosha County Parks is dedicated to providing accessible, diverse venues throughout the County that encourage the pursuit of healthy, recreational, and educational outdoor activities while promoting the preservation of our community’s natural resources.
The role of the seasonal Graphic Designer is to work alongside the Development Coordinator in the management, planning, and execution of a variety of robust graphic design projects for the Kenosha County Parks throughout the year.
2026 Hiring Range: $16.00 to $20.00 per hour based on qualifications
Hiring Bonus A Kenosha County seasonal Park candidate who is successfully hired and employed for at least 30 days shall be awarded a $200.00 bonus to their paycheck.
Work Schedule
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, but will consistently work during normal office hours
Will not exceed 20 hours per week beginning in January 2026
Must be available to work on site at the Kenosha County Center in Bristol, WI
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Designs graphics for digital and print marketing materials using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Canva
Assists in the design and printing of marketing materials that include, but are not limited to: brochures, logos, flyers, newsletters, maps, social media graphics, posters, and banners
Assists the Development Coordinator in promoting park initiatives, capital improvement projects, website updates, and special events
Drafts social media posts
Assists the event staff during on-site park events
Performs other duties as assigned
Success Factors
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, Adobe Express, and other Adobe products
Knowledge of, or ability to readily learn, various software applications
Ability to communicate effectively and work with patrons of all ages
A strong understanding on design and branding
Ability to navigate most forms of social media and social media management interfaces (Facebook, Instagram, Hootsuite, etc.)
Ability to accept, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instruction
Ability to multitask and organize numerous projects efficiently
Ability to provide regular updates to immediate supervisor
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work respectfully in a diverse and inclusive environment
Job Requirements, Education, Training and Experience
College undergraduate or graduate student, or recent university graduate, with academic focus/experience in a degree program related to any of the following: graphic design, web design, marketing, communications, photography, or related discipline
Must be at least 18 years old at time of application
Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of hire and maintain during incumbency, with acceptable driving record
Reliable transportation to various park sites is needed
At least 1 year of experience with graphic design work is preferred but not required
Videography and video editing experience is preferred but not required
Physical Demands
Requires full range of physical movement – bending, reaching, lifting, etc.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Kenosha County participates in the FICA Alternative Retirement Program. Seasonal employees are automatically enrolled in this program if they do not meet eligibility criteria for the Wisconsin Retirement System (pension). The FICA Alternative plan replaces the payment of FICA tax and instead contributes a percentage of pre-tax wages into an investment account for the benefit of the employee.
