To support our growing design division, we are seeking an Apparel Product Designer who enjoys contributing to the creative design process – from fabric selection to sketching and print development. What You’ll Do At Colony Brands, our Apparel Product Designers work collaboratively with our Quality Assurance, Technical Design and Merchandising teams to build our product from concept thru production. Your work will center on interpreting conceptual design ideas and creating thoughtful visuals to present to Merchants that reflect an understanding of garment construction, drape of the fabric and overall accuracy. You’ll also be responsible for:

Designing and developing unique styles to Colony Brands specifications

Creating flat sketches in Illustrator for design development that include garment construction callouts and details

Creating exclusive prints/patterns and embellishments using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

Leading Design team efforts to research and present seasonal trend information that is relevant to our customer

Qualifications We need an exceptionally creative individual with professional level communication skills, who thrives in a fast paced, team environment. Ideally you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Product Design or related art field and 3+ years of Apparel and Product Design experience. In addition, we are looking for:

High creative aptitude and sensibility for merchandising

Ability to think and develop "out of the box" ideas

Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

Ability to digitally sketch in Adobe Illustrator

Print and pattern development experience

Knowledge of web-based tech pack PLM software

Ability to accurately assess color

Understanding and knowledge of fabric

Above average communication and interpersonal skills

Attend fit sessions and work with Technical Design team to ensure proper fit of garments
