Position Overview We are looking for a versatile professional who can

drive business growth

while

owning end-to-end event execution . This unique role combines the strategic outreach of a

Business Development Representative (BDR)

with the operational and creative expertise of a

Marketing Events Specialist . The ideal candidate is a relationship builder, skilled negotiator, and hands‑on executor who thrives in both the boardroom and on the show floor. This role demands a

go-getter, do-whatever-it-takes mentality

to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities Business Development

Identify and qualify new business opportunities through research, outbound calls, emails, and social engagement.

Build and nurture relationships with prospects, partners, and industry influencers.

Recruit

new partners and speakers

for events to enhance engagement and thought leadership.

Schedule and support sales meetings, ensuring alignment with event-driven campaigns.

Maintain accurate pipeline data and report on lead generation metrics.

Develop a comprehensive strategy for selecting the right events based on audience fit, ROI potential, and brand alignment, and create an annual event calendar with a detailed budget plan to maximize impact and cost efficiency.

Plan, coordinate, and execute trade shows, conferences, and company-hosted events.

Support with the negotiation of contracts

with venues, vendors, and service providers to optimize cost and value.

Support/Manage all

pre-event promotional arrangements , including email campaigns, social media, and partner outreach.

Handle

physical booth setup , including lifting, assembly, and on-site labor coordination.

Ensure booth design aligns with brand standards and delivers an engaging attendee experience.

Apply creative thinking to craft memorable event experiences that deeply connect with our brand and deliver a true white‑glove experience for attendees.

Develop post-event reporting and ROI analysis.

Networking & Relationship Building

Represent the company at events, fostering connections with prospects, customers, and partners.

Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring a positive and professional presence at all engagements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or technology field.

2+ years of experience in business development and/or event management.

Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to manage budgets and reconcile expenses accurately.

Comfortable with

hands‑on physical work

during event setup and teardown.

Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot) and event management platforms.

Ability to travel and work flexible hours as needed.

Ideal Candidate Must Be

Have great communications skills (communicating with different teams at CQ as well as prospects)

A fearless networker

Quick at picking up technology and understanding what CQ does

Extremely organized

Bonus Points Experience working for

SaaS companies in Manufacturing and/or Life Sciences

Lead Generation:

Number of qualified leads sourced per quarter.

Event ROI:

Percentage of event‑driven pipeline contribution.

Partner/Speaker Recruitment:

Number of new strategic partners and speakers secured annually.

Budget Accuracy:

Maintain event spend within ±5% of forecast.
