Responsibilities
Utilize a person‑centered approach that promotes positive perceptions of aging and builds relationships among residents.
Develop a monthly calendar in partnership with residents based on shared interests.
Collaborate with the community leadership team to plan and execute special events such as holidays, family gatherings, educational activities, and marketing events.
Plan and schedule meaningful engagement opportunities outside the community, which may include driving a community vehicle.
Qualifications
Minimum of one year of direct experience working with adults.
Leadership experience or a related degree (therapeutic recreation, gerontology, health care, education, or related field) is preferred.
Valid driver’s license; a commercial driver’s license may be required based on community needs.
Applies existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within the department.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Standing, walking, sitting.
Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects.
Reach with hands and arms.
Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Talk or hear.
Can lift up to 50 pounds.
Vision is required.
Regular interaction with co‑workers, residents, or vendors.
Occasional weekend, evening, or night work to ensure shift coverage.
On‑call as needed.
Possible exposure to communicable diseases, latex, blood‑borne pathogens, chemicals, drugs, and other hazards.
Driving required to transport residents (Tier 1).
