JOB DESCRIPTION As a Survey Crew Chief, you will plan, organize, and direct the work of one or more crew members engaged in field surveying. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Reading and interpreting civil engineering and survey plans

Applying thorough knowledge of standard land survey procedures, accurate note-keeping, and field execution for boundary, topographic, and construction surveys

Operating and/or directing the operation of electronic data collectors, GPS equipment, optical and robotic total stations, and digital/optical leveling equipment

Making sound, informed decisions in the field

Motivating, training, and leading crew and staff members on proper field procedures

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Willingness to travel as needed (Less than once a month in state)

Experience with topographic surveys, boundary surveys, construction layout, and GPS surveys

High school diploma or equivalent

5 to 10+ years of experience with construction and boundary survey work

2 to 3+ years of experience as a Lead/Crew Chief

Ability to take clear, legible field notes

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

HUGE PLUS: Hydrographic surveying experience (Specialized field focused on measuring and surveying underwater features)

Drone pilot or any survey drone experience
