Telecom Underground Foreman

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Telecom Underground Foreman to lead underground construction crews supporting telecommunications infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, permits, and client requirements. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, organized, and capable of managing crews, schedules, and production in a fast‑paced telecom construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise underground construction crews performing trenching, potholing, boring, conduit placement, vaults, handholes, and restoration.
Plan and coordinate daily work activities, crew assignments, equipment, and materials.
Read and interpret construction drawings, permits, and traffic control plans.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and client standards.
Coordinate with utility locators, inspectors, traffic control providers, and local jurisdictions.
Monitor jobsite productivity and maintain quality control standards.
Verify completed work meets project specifications prior to inspection.
Track daily production, quantities, materials, and job progress.
Communicate schedules, issues, and updates with project management.
Complete accurate daily reports, as‑builts, and job close‑out documentation.
Enforce jobsite rules, safety practices, and company policies.
Required Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience in underground telecom or utility construction.
Prior experience as a Foreman or Lead managing field crews.
Strong knowledge of underground telecom construction methods and materials.
Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
Working knowledge of traffic control and excavation safety requirements.
Valid California driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Telecom OSP or fiber construction experience.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Traffic Control / Flagger certification.
Experience coordinating inspections and close‑outs with municipalities.
Familiarity with daily reporting and production tracking.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $34–$38 per hour, depending on experience.
